Brisbane Lions 2018 Sir Doug Nicholls Round Guernsey #43 Barrett

To celebrate Sir Doug Nicholls Round, the Brisbane Lions are celebrating our connection to with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities by wearing a guernsey designed by renowned Aboriginal artist Elaine Chambers.

As described by Elaine, the guernsey has been based on the traditional colourings of the Brisbane Lions guernsey, with a design that represents the meeting place of the Turrbal and Yuggera nations, showing respect to people of the land coming together from the north, south, east and west. The markings around the outside represent people that make this journey together from the different Aboriginal nations, including those that have played on the ground of the Gabba.

The guernsey will be worn twice in 2018 when we take on North Melbourne in Round 11 at Etihad and again in our home game against Essendon in Round 12
